Carlo’s Portfolio

I’m a web guy - that’s what I do. I’ve been creating and managing web sites since 1995 when I put up my first web site for SSL. I do it for work, I do it for fun. I just do it!

Below is a sample of my work. If something catches your eye, drop me a line and I can show you how I did it. For a synopsis of my work experience, click here for my resume.

Portland Velo Web Site   Portland Velo Cycling Club Web Site  I created this web site for the cycling club my friends and I founded last year (2006). The site is designed to be the club’s information hub, as we don’t hold formal club meetings. I used a combination of ASP, PHP and CSS.

Portland Velo Web Site   HP’s Product Lifecycle Management Intranet This web site is the front-end for an SAP system that unified PLC data management across all of HP. My role was (and still is, actually) the WW Program Manager, responsible for all aspects of design and deployment.

Portland Velo Web Site   HP NetServer Web Site, HP.COM  This was the first dyamic web site on HP.COM, based on ASP and MS SQL Server. I was the project manager and senior designer. I worked with a web agency on the creative direction and led the technical and architectural design.

Portland Velo Web Site   “Camelot” HP NetServer Web Content Managment System How long does it take to make a change to a web page? How about 2 seconds! No joke, we used Word, XML, http and ASP to get a content change to the web site in seconds. A pure thing of beauty!

NED   NetServer Electonic Document System (”NED”) Back in the day (i.e 1996-97),content management meant document management. I brought up an entire document managment system for the division - based on Documentum - and designed the web GUI.

kdallegri.com   The Art of Kathy Delumpa Allegri My Aunt Kathy is an amazing watercolor artist, based in Gresham, OR. We wanted to put togther a web site that would showcase her work and could be used as a marketing tool. Additional features are forthcoming, such as a shopping cart an forum.

Cycling Calendar   PortlandCycling Community Calendar This is a good example of buying off-the-shelf code and customizing it to make it look and behave exactly as you want. The calendar software is by Expinion, and they provide the full ASP source code. The calendar is widely used by Portland cycling community members and bike clubs.

taojones   Tao Jones Rock Band My rock star alter-ego got a big boost in Sacramento, CA, where I had a rock cover band called “Tao Jones”. The site served as our online marketing tool, which led to an increase in bookings. That’s me in the middle, by the way.

SSL   Surface Science Laboratories This was my first commercial web site, and though it doesn’t look like much, it actually pushed the envelope technically in 1995 terms. Table nesting, web-aliasing, rollover effects are second nature now, but were bleeding-edge back then.

LazyDawg   LazyDawg LazyDawg is my personal web site that I use to post photos and news for our family and friends as a way to keep virtually in touch. The site has undergone a couple of iterations over the years and currently, it is hosted on a Linux server as this blog.
